EQUUS LIFE COACHING
WITH
MARISA STRIANO
Take the lead.
Horses "see" you because, as prey animals, they have a highly attuned nervous system. We humans walk around like wireless communication devices broadcasting our state of being and, while we often attempt to hide thoughts and feelings, the body never lies.
When you step into a round pen with a horse, they pick up on all the non-verbal cues and reflect the truth you communicate in each moment. This clear, gentle, compassionate mirror provides a path to awaken memories of who you truly are.

“ I don’t know how to express the abundance of gratitude to have been a part of this program. You, your staff, and the horses (especially Pirate) have helped me find some healing from the flood of emotions and brokenness that were taking hold of my once happy and joyful soul. I am beginning to feel more like myself again.”

Meet our new Equus Life Coach, Jil Gans!
My name is Jil Gans and I was born is Great Neck, New York. I raised my children in New York City, and then moved to Remsenburg, Long Island. I attended Hofstra University and graduated with a BA in Speech Pathology and Audiology, and a minor in Art.
I have had several different careers; a project manager in an interior design/architecture firm, a hair stylist, and showroom sales in the garment center in New York City. After many years I found a new career in fundraising and chairing benefits for my children’s schools.
I found my true calling at Spirit’s Promise Equine Rescue where I have spent 8 years as a volunteer. Over time I realized that I wanted to work with horses, and help people. I and am now a certified Equus Coach from the Center for Equus Coaching.
Becoming an Equus Coach took me on my own personal journey of self-discovery.
I thought I knew everything about myself, but I came to find out that learning about yourself never stops. I wanted to become an Equus coach to help people remember that they have the innate ability to listen to themselves and make choices in their lives. Magical things can happen when horses and people are together, and as an Equus coach, when I witness someone coming to a new awareness in themselves, I am filled with gratitude and appreciation for being allowed to share in their experience.
The world is changing rapidly, and transition is now a part of a life choice. I have stood beside my daughter as she evolved into a beautiful young woman. Eirynn knew that at some point in her life she didn’t feel like she was being true to herself.
Eirynn’s thoughts are “I decided to transition into the person I really am and I did some soul searching. I knew I didn’t want to continue to feel that my body and my soul were not aligned. I am the me that I was meant to be”.
My personal goal is to help people explore their potential for living a full life.
Grief Therapy Programs With East End Hospice
Support groups bring together people who are going through or have gone through similar experiences. For example, this common ground might be cancer, chronic medical conditions, addiction, bereavement or caregiving.
A support group provides an opportunity for people to share personal experiences and feelings, coping strategies, or firsthand information about diseases or treatments.
*Our grief support groups through East End Hospice will begin again in the fall of 2025. Please call 631-288-1546 for more information.
